Mindful says that MINDFULLNESS "Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. While mindfulness is something we all naturally possess, it’s more readily available to us when we practice on a daily basis. Whenever you bring awareness to what you’re directly experiencing via your senses, or to your state of mind via your thoughts and emotions, you’re being mindful. And there’s growing research showing that when you train your brain to be mindful, you’re actually remodeling the physical structure of your brain."
As for RESILIENCE, Amid Sood from Every Day Health says that "resilience is typically defined as the capacity to recover from difficult life events, it’s your ability to withstand adversity and bounce back and grow despite life’s downturns”.
SO HOW CAN WE PRACTICE BOTH?
This is what we had in mind ... remember a difficult conflict you had with someone. Possibly with somepne, you are still in (regular) contact in. Now think:
- what bothers you about this person?
- how do you feel around them?
- what are the sensations in your body when they are close?
- what are the situations when you remember your past conflict all over again?
- what core values does he/she evoke in you?
- what is the most difficult for you to accept about your behaviours and thought when around this person?
- how would you describe the relationship you have with yourself, does this person challenge it?
- where might you lean into forgiveness (of self or other)?
- what is your happy place?
- what did this conflict teach you?
This is one out of 9 activities, created for the "Walk with challenges" workshop that took place during the "My step forward" training course, organised by Socialna akademija and its partners and co-funded by Erasmus+. The training course took part in Celje, Slovenija, between 7th and 14th of July 2022. Still, this activity is part of the learning playlist that can be used by anybody, anytime. So gather a group and take a walk ... with challenges... and ... make your FIRST STEP FORWARD! Consigue la insignia de actividad
